Busy Summer

Is there anyone out there that ever feels rested after a vacation?

Not me.

We left on my 30th birthday to go to a water park resort then up north to our family cottage in the North Woods (michigan).  We got a call that evening that my grandmother had fallen and broken her hip.  But God bless her, she is doing fine.  Better than fine.  Almost ready to come home!  Which means we'd better hurry up and get these projects done around the house!!

I'm also co-leading girl scouts this year, and bought a bunch of girl scout material.  I had planned on making Briana a little ruffle skirt for our first summer gathering, but it had been back burnered before our trip.

We got home to a home without power from all the severe weather in Chicago, but as we were shopping for my new sewing machine {yay!!!} the power came back on!

The first thing I did was make some of my super soft burpies for a special friend's fundraiser, but then something frilly and fun for my baby girl.  A girl scout skirt!

Taaa-Daa!!

We did a few crafts and made a pizza dinner for our first summer event.  It was so much fun!  The kids liked it too.  {ha!}

We made tee shirts with stencils and painted them using the bottoms of shoes!  How fun!!

We made bowls and coasters out of craft beads and pins with charms and beads.

For dinner we had the girls learn about different types of fruit and we made individual pizzas!  They definitely learned about eating a rainbow with toppings such as tomatoes, carrots, yellow bell pepper, broccoli and roasted beets.  Yum!!!

So my first event as a co-leader really went well and was tons of fun!
