Parker's Sundress

In between planning Brayden's party, which is this Sunday {yikes!!!} and the end of year festivities at school, including Briana's bridge to Brownies {yay!} I was able to make little Parker a dress for her birthday.  I love the fabric and I love the dress!!  I really hope I get a few appreciation pics from her mama so you can see how it looks on her.  But for now, this is how it looked on a hanger...

To Infinity.....and Beyond!

Today it dawned on me that I've been too busy to update my blog.  Honestly I haven't been sewing much lately.  My son, Brayden, turns 4 in a couple of weeks, and I've becoming addicted to the website Pinterest to try to figure out how I'm doing his party.  It has been amazing!  I've 'pinned' so many things for Briana's birthday and Charlie's birthday and for Father's Day and things for the house and recipes....and I still don't have a solid plan for Brayden's party.  {sigh}  To say the least, that website is addicting.

I'm set on the theme at least.  It's Buzz and Woody, with a little Bullseye and a little "squishy squishy aliens", as Brayden calls them.  I got the invitations on etsy and the shop owner Caitlin was so great!  She was able to incorporate everything I wanted into the invitation and I think they turned out so well.  This isn't Brayden's invitation, but you get the feel for what it will look like!

I also have the great luck of having Beth of Beth Kruse Custom Creations as my sister, so I'm stealing some of her ideas from her daughters birthday party.  The Toy Story items are still super popular on her etsy shop too.  Hopefully she can squeeze me in... {hint hint}

I love the idea of having some of her Buzz stuff on one side of the room and some of her Woody and Jesse stuff on the other side.  That way, we have a little of both worlds, it looks sharp and clean, and Brayden will be thrilled that he gets everything he wanted.  It's a tall order, but I'm trying!

For the Buzz table, I've decided on doing more of the treats and sweets.  It will have this banner over the table...

Then I was thinking of doing something cowboy-ish like this for the Woody/Jesse table...

I've also planned on making foods that will coordinate colors with each table.  For example, on the Buzz table, I'm going to have a fruit 'salad' with blueberries and kiwis in it, but for the Woody table I will use strawberries and cantaloupe.  This is my inspiration...

I will also do cupcakes and a cake for the Buzz table.

The cake I think will be a two tiered cake.  The bottom tier having fondant rocket ships, and the second tier having a cow print look to it.  Then I might just put action figures around it.  I don't know exactly how I plan to do all of this...  But I'm doing to try!

For the Woody table, I might just have a few snacks like Goldfish crackers and the fruit salad I mentioned before.  And these pizza muffins I found while search Pinterest (I'm sure at 1am)

And then some apple sauce like this...

For drinks, I was planning on getting a bunch of small mason jars, and spray painting chalk board paint on the front in a small square area, to write the kids names on them.  Then after the party, I can add them to the kids goody bags...

Also for the goody bags, I was just going to get some random Buzz and Woody themed things like fruit snacks if I could find them.  But also I was going to try to make these for the kids too...

Aren't they cute??

And I'm going to make star crayons for all the kids too.  Probably some green and blue and purple and some red and yellow and orange...

Good grief!  What am I doing still just typing on my blog!  I've got to working on all of these projects if I plan to have it all come together!

Hopefully I will have some really great pictures of the day... {Keep your fingers crossed!!}
